What do you look for in a photo tent for your models?

There are plenty affordable ones on ebay.

Coincidentally, I just bought one of those through ebay. The one I chose is a 30" photo cube. The quality is much better than I anticipated, and it works well. FWIW, I probably should've just stuck to the 24" version, because this 30" cube takes up a ton of space! Folding it back up to fit into its little pouch can be an adventure. I'd suggest watching one of the excellent Youtube videos on that subject, to see how it should be done. Once you learn the technique, it's no more than a couple of quick flips of the wrist. Yeah, I'd say go for it, they're pretty nice to have.
