Not much to say about the build. Just a few hours work.

In my formative years, like most of us, I spent obsessing about Star Wars when I wasn't doing that I was building Spitfire's and the like, you know the thing Coen. For some reason the two never met, I have a blind spot when it comes to Star Wars/Sci-Fi kits. I'm hoping these Bandai kits might help me out.

I want them to pair up with the falcon and hang them from the ceiling.

I found this while cruising for reference material on x-wings yesterday.
It may not be rivet counter accurate, but it does give good ideas and that's never a bad thing.

The dude may not the the best photographer, but he's a hell of a builder

Thing two is near completion as well. Badger primer, Tamiya flat white, then a dark dirt wash.
Next is the flat coat and she's done.
I went with the white instead of the blue grey because she looks white in the film. The over exposure lighting in the movie brightened the hell out of the thing and I liked that look better.

The X-wing took a bit longer to build and to paint. A lot more detail and features on this little thing. Not to mention a crap load of decals.
Tiny ones too.

I also discovered what happens when you slack off with your gloss coat with the new Ultimate dark dirt. You really need to make sure that you do a proper gloss or you'll end up with stains. It's just a good thing that X-wings were beat to hell and gone.

I painted the X-wing in the markings as a random version of a member of a red squadron. So it's not meant to represent any particular pilot from the films.

Then the decals...
I had a lot of trouble with the R2 unit's decals, but the rest were very good quality decals, although very small in some cases.





Then the Ultimate Dark Dirt wash...





You can check out the reveal section to see what she looks like with the wash off. That's all I did next.
Once it was dry I cleaned off the wash and flat coated it.
