A quick overview of this RAF trainer, which was in service from the mid '50s until the mid '90s.

Let's have a look at the instructions.







Decal placement



Clear instructions with a sprue map and colour call-outs for the smaller parts. Rather typical of Czech made kits.
Now being a Czech, short run kit you often get some goodies, this time we get a pair of resin seats and here they are

Moving on to the main sprues, let's have a look at the fuselage

Not too much on the inside of the 'pit and just look at them epm's. If we turn the sprue over however

We get lovely raised and recessed detail, this is what I really like about these Sword kits, it's all about what's on the outside
Again with the wings, lovely detail

The clear stuff is a bit disappointing though, hopefully a little dip might improve things

These look fine and quite thin so should settle down nicely.
A nice little kit, there is not a lot to her but will be striking in the training red and white livery. If you fancy the fighter version the "Strikemaster" that is also now available (might get it myself)

Be interesting to see how this turns out. I'm surprised there's no PE with it. I built a couple of Swords Lightning trainers. Resin seats and exhausts, and a load of PE as well. However, I wasn't impressed with the fit of the plastic parts. They turned out ok in the end, but they put me right off Sword kits. I really like the look of this Provost, so I hope it goes well for you buddy!

How's yours going? I'd love to see how it turns out. I really like the subject, but I just can't bring myself to build another sword kit after seeing these sprues. A bit too much hassle at 1/72!

still in the process of building the thing, the instructions are crap. I am trying to do the cockpit console, as it doesnt really show clearly where it attaches to or even if the console should fit into the part 35 lucky you get three different types.

What would be your best guess?

Ive found this forum post, but his is an airfix and the console is kinda already done

Hi Lord, to be honest I thought I'd put some reveal pics but I guess I didn't. I can't remember how the ip fits it been ages since I'd completed it. Persevere tho it does build up quire nice indeed..

Sorry mate no build pictures, it is one of the only builds I didn't document
As for paint, Stynlrez white primer then Xtracrylix RAF light aircraft grey (XA1015) and RAF red arrows red (XA1014)
