Chiefs 1/48 Airfix Lightning F.6

Post by chief5437 »

Sneaking this in last minute, lol!

I used Flightpaths detail set for this, but I don't think I'd recommend it. Half of it is oversize and useless, the missiles aren't any better than the kit parts, and the PE is pretty damn thick, so it's hard to work with. But... The undercarriage is pretty good, and the metal shock cone acts as a weight to avoid tail sitting. There's also some nice looking decals, but they're for the F.3!

Not all bad, but at £30+ I wouldn't bother, the kit itself is only £26!

The kit itself is great oob, maybe worth getting resin cans from Aires. The canopy on this is a little hazy, but the other ones I have are fine, so it may just be this particular kit.

Anyway, let's see the pics!

That is so nice! Fantastic paint job and perfect build! And, to be honest, I prefer this camo scheme to the all metalic version.

Wow, you did more awesome plane models in one group build than I've ever built in my life!

All your pieces are very nice.
