Will be building the RAAF tropical version with the silver heat resistant paint.

Really really impressed with the kit, this is my first Tamiya 1/32. The engineering is great and the instructions give good explanation to the point of telling you which sprue attachments to cut off. Building this cockpit was much less stressful than my Wingnut Wings Snipe.

Work is progressing on the Engines, both fully detailed - no cutting corners from Tamiya. Huge potential for maintenance dioramas out the box with this kit. The use of screws to attach the engine to the frame means it is very strong although it looks fragile.

Being a 1/32 kit of a mid sized aircraft Tamiya have engineered the build around a central spar with the wings being screwed in place creating a perfectly aligned and strong base for the rest of the kit.

The large tyres of the Mossie come in multiple parts and with a bit of filler should look rather nice for plastic parts. Note no center line seam

That full assembly including the undercarriage looks great. As for the wing construction - can hardly keep my hands off my wallet!

Problem is I have the 1/32 Spit to do yet so I am a ways off getting one!

Work continues on the first of the two engine nacelles, photo etch ribs are a nice touch and not too fiddly - rather impressed with Tamiya's photo etch so far.



The engineering is beyond comprehension for plastic as it is balanced perfectly and I haven't properly fitted most of the parts yet just held with kinetic force.





This shows the size of the engine section next to Dragons Marder, the kit may be pricey but you get allot for your cash.

That whole engine and nacelle set up looks so very cool.

Both engines necelles and undercarriage added to the wings. The engines are held by screws so can still be removed for painting.



Here are the parts that make up the wheel, can get a bit messy if rushed but I think once they are painted and weathered they will look as good as resin.

As for the tyres, they look so cool, nicely done by your good self but what a brilliant wheeze by Tamiya, so much better than the old rubber nonsense on the other 1/32 kits.

Thinking I will model a tarpaulin cover blowing off one of the engines and maybe try the clear cowlings for the other. Bomb bay will certainly be open.
