I originally got this kit for a build at the start of the year but never started it so I might as well make it in this build hopefully.

I don't think it will be a difficult build.

Nice choise for this gb
I heared it is a pretty good kit
It is the proven Tamiya T-55 as a base and then newer parts for the add on armor according to a review i have in a modelling magazine
It seemed that US troops didn't even know what kind of tank it was untill some research was done and they found out it was "just" a T-55
So it should make for a nice build and it does look cool with all the added armor
Good luck with the build

Well this should be a quick build even for me lol. Few hours with the girls in the hangout today and

I spent a little time roughing up the edges of the add on armour as it was far too square and new looking. So using a rasp/file I gave the edges a few smacks and plucked the edges.

Damn, that was quick! Gotta love Tamiya engineering. Did the metal barrel come with the kit?

Good luck with the rest of it! :cheers2: :th:

Thanks guys.

Chief the barrel is from rb models.

So finally got back to it today. Great engineering but still no pe grills and only that rubbish mesh which i refuse to use. Sorry Tamiya you got to take the finger out.

Primed it black

Now I sprayed Tamiya xf84 dark iron. Not sure whether I like it to be honest lol. Then I gloss coated it.

I then sprayed hairspray all over the turret. I waited for it to dry and sprayed Tamiya XF 57 Buff and then XF15 Flesh. I used a combo of toothpick and brush to chip the turret. I have never tried this before, using a sponge was my preferred method but I have been told you can only achieve certain effects this way only. We shall see.

I am really trying not to damage it too much. I want to try for a less is more look. Crosses fingers

So this is all my progress so far, thanks for looking.
