Hi guys! Here is my delayed entry for the Homeland GB. Well, the story of why I didn't make it is long, so here is a shortened version:

The trouble began when the low-quality decals wouldn't set down well, later I had trouble with the gloss coat reacting with my oil wash,
then, so close to the finish when I put the matte-coat on I noticed that the decals were very badly silverd although I did everything I
could do to them and finally while fixing the decals a little accident happened and I had to order a new sheet of decals...................

-So now that I finally have finished it, I can say that I'm not happy with this model, partially because of the very bad decals, weathering
and the matte-coat. :violin: So, I'll try something totally new for my next build to get the mojo back again... We'll see...

Anyway, here it is:

If you hadn't said anything, I probably wouldn't have noticed the decals. It's an awesome build. Modeller's tend to be their own worst critics. I built the Tamiya 1/32 Corsair when it came out and the decals in that kit nearly ruined it for me. They can be hit and miss in Japanese kits. So, I try to stick to Cartograf where I can these days. Either way, your build looks amazing. Hope to see more of your work in the future!!!!

The decals I used on this kit are not the ones that came in the box. (They were swedish.)
Instead I used Galdecal's aftermarket decal sheet for the finnish version. They were absolutely awful. :pistols:
I tested the Swedish Hasegawa decal sheet that came in the kit and used a few stencils on my model too.
Those were the best decals I've tried yet! -Well done Hasegawa!

Very nice, paintwork looks really well aged.

You nailed it! Beautiful build and paint job! :th:

It's a shame that you had problems with these aftermarket decals. But like strawnobi wrote, most people wouldn't have noticed a thing! I haven't had any problems with Galdecal but it's good to know if I'm going to build this kit one day.

Thanks Olli!

Yeah, the price tells all about the decals, so don't buy cheap decals!
