Stop! I'm already in trouble for trying to create this modelling thing known as a stash. The Mrs reckons I cant build more than one at a time so why do I need them all?? And I only have 3 that I'm not working on.

I've never had a stash until coming back to the hobby earlier this year. Now I buy stuff that I think I want to make then I see something else I want to make more and buy that too and make it before I touch what I've already bought. Its a friggin nightmare. The stash now holds:

Tamiya 1/32 Spitfire with aftermarket resin and decals
Revell's new 1/32 FW 190
Eduard 1/48 FW 190
Eduard 1/48 Mk 9 Spitfire
Bandai 1/48 ATST



Since buying the above I have bought and made:

Tamiya 1/35 Panther SP
Dragon 1/35 Tiger II
Airfix 1/48 PR XIX Spitfire

On the bench I now have the Bandai Snowspeeder for the Star Wars SIG and I couldn't help buying the ATST as well.

Now I've just gone and bought a Tamiya 1/48 F4U Corsair

Wait until you have over a 100, she's gonna freak. Mine does often. Best way is to try to keep them out of sight and when cornered use these life extender's...
1. They were on sale.
2. didn't want to miss out as they may stop making this particular one and may never be able to get another.
3. What did you buy this week MY dearest.... Have to be careful pulling the trigger on this one
4. How many top's and handbags do you need and never wear.
5. The other wives of friends in the forum actually encourage there hubbies by actually buying modeling gifts for them. I can prove it.
6. Lastly .....I suppose I could take up drinking down at the local 3 days a week.

FMCshop on ebay are doing the Mossie for £119.99, plus 10% off, so £107.99!
It's getting dangerously close to being to good to resist.

Blimey, that's cheaper than their new Corsair! Seriously itchy fingers now.....

I'd forgotten this thread too Stash is now developing quite nicely and is up to around 20 including an Airfix 1/24 Typhoon. Tamiya Mossie is on watch on eBay and there is one for £100 on there now................wife is away for a week.........but skint until payday and she's back by then. All solutions considered, what do you reckon?

Not close enough mate. Birthday in November and coincides nicely with the big IPMS show in Telford so will have some spends for that. But I want the Mossie now! I play guitar too and there is something called GAS (Guitar Acquisition Syndrome), I think KAS (Kit Acquisition Syndrome) might be a real thing too

This syndromes are popping up everywhere, the worse of the lots I think must be CAD (Cigar Acquisition Disorder), once that bites it really does take hold! Although KAS don't show worrying signs as well

Most addictions are 'cured' by the introduction of less harmful alternatives which give you the same buzz...........If I could think of an alternative to styrene then I might be on to something but then it all just starts again

I started my return to modelling with a one kit, one build philosophy but the growing number of boxes under the bench just proves how foolish I was back then ...............Now I want a Mossie

I reckon its a certainty you'll be able to get one for a good deal at Telford in November. Absence makes the heart grow fonder so keep your powder dry and you will be rewarded!

I nearly weakened last month when Monk bar Models in York had it for £99. Fear of Mrs WRK wasn't the clincher (although it's always there) - it was the realisation that I simply couldn't do it justice. Now I'm thinking, "what the hell, buy it, stash it, and build it when you've got a few more completions under your belt - and another kid's left home so you've got space to display it in the new spare room."

Try giving them growth hormones so you can shoe horn them out the door quicker.....

There's only one from Tamiya in 1/32 so you should be ok.

It's a big'un is it ?

I'm thinking about doing it for the tamiya GB but i dont know if four months is long enough ? I'd like to know what others have in mind but i suppose i'll find out soon enough

Sure is mate. Mind you, their 1/32 Corsair is no lightweight either, that box is almost as big.

Only thing about the Tamiya SIG is no aftermarket allowed. I will be getting some decals for mine so that counts me out.

I'd like to enter though so I think I'll be after one of their recent AFV releases for the SIG. The new Panther looks sweet so I may go for that.

Havent had a chance to have a proper look yet

Ok, had a quick look through it and there's little chance of getting it built in four months, so thats out !
