Oil removal

Hi guys,

bit of advice needed....

I've been experimenting with weathering using oils on my latest build of a P-47 Thunderbolt. I've basically dry brushed various shades onto odd panels for a bit of variation, also using the oils to post shade. Seemed to be working great until I realised I'd overdone it somewhat.
Question is, what would be the best way to tone-down / knock back / reduce the build up, even remove if necessary?? I've put the oils on top of 2 good coats of Alclad Klear Kote Matte.

Any help will be much appreciated

I'd go for odourless mineral spirits to fade out excess oil.

When you said you used oils to post shade, did you thin the oil and airbrush the post shading on? That might be a bit more tedious to remove but it can be done.

Hi jomark thanks for the advice I'll get myself a bottle of spirits.
No I basically dry brushed the neat oil colour in using a very small amount and built it up. Used various colours to highlight and lowlight. Like I said I was experimenting!! It's worked how I wanted pretty much, I've just slightly overdone it. I'll post some pictures when I'm done.
