Lavochkin La-5 1/72 Cooperativa

Post by elscorpio »

Just finished a Lavochkin La-5

Really old model, i think the the dimensions and form are good, but its a tricky model, and it need a lot of putty and sanding...and the canopy its not very good...but in the end its always the modeler fault not the model...

Here are the pics:

That looks just like I'd imagine a russian fighter that's seen some action - weathering looks awesome and paint colours as well. Are the red star decals on the underside of the wings faded/weathered or is it just the lighting of the photo. Looks very nice.

Thanks mate.

The stars on the bottom (and i did the same on top) , were given a really light mist of the blue base color. After the decal, i passed with a heavy dilluted paint over the decals, to fade them a little, just enough to integrate them with the base colors...the decals were still very good on this model, and they contrasted with the paint job.
Its more visible on that pic, because of the lights in the photo, but you are right, its there.

A lot of great stuff going on in this build. Love the weathering. I don't build 1/72 much anymore. This is fantastic!!!
