Lindberg 1/48 JU-87 Stuka,

I´m working on a Lindberg 1/48 JU-87 Stuka model kit.
While researching about the real aircraft, I found pictures that show and antenna-like extension coming out from the bottom of the aircraft )see attached image and URL below:

The Lindberg model does not include this part, but I´m pretty sure that it can be made from streched sprue.
I´m very curious about the function of this antenna-like extension. Does anybody out there knows what is the name of this device and what was is used for in the real aircraft?
