Hello all,

I have decided to take the plunge into this SiG with my 1/24 revell uh-1 huey,
Image
after having a vicious fight with a revell 1/32 spitfire mk22 and losing. :violin:
it is possible i am mad for going near another revell kit. Only time will tell.

now just have to have a first read through the instructions and panic.

It will be a straight out of the box build(i use the term build very loosely).

Looks intresting
I have seen the kit before but i was a bit curious if it was good or not
So i will be following this to see how it builds
And maybe i will spot some ideas for my own Huey
Good luck with the build

having now perused the instruction manual and taken the sprues out of their respective bags, the horror of the coming build was revealed. :eeek:

I should have checked more closely when the package containing this kit was delivered as it had taken damage. I had noted in the what has postman delivered today thread (link here->) http://www.intscalemodeller.com/viewtop ... 51#p185451 that my parcel was a little worse for wears.

most sprues have received damage mainly consisting of sprue gates being torn from parts and some parts showing signs of being bent. but i have decided to look at it as a challenge to improve my skills, one of the pilots had lost both legs.

after that i have noticed some flash also quite a few ejector pin marks and and sink marks.

so with filler and sanding sticks in hand the battle shall commence.

photo's and updates soon

have fun all

Remember this kit from the 2014 Vietnam GB
Watch for fit issues of the roof/front window section, drove someone mad if I recall and they bailed on it
I made 1/72 Tamiya and Hasegawa UH-1s which were fine

Ahh found the thread, it was my buddy Mikey, he did a hog and a cobra
Hope that helps a bit for your build

thanks for the heads-up on the fit front fit issues. still trying to re-assemble the crew. :)

i think this is going to be a nice slow build, as i see much filler being used and copious amounts of ungentlemanly language.

have fun all

Always better to have a bit of a heads up on a kit's issues
The links didn't post last time, sorry

Hey there. different Huey all together - I can't speak for the 1/24 kit, but the old school 1/48, in my opinion, is AWFUL! :wall: :wall: It was a Revel kit, as well.
