Another beautiful paint job Antonio! I've been thinking about taking a crack at figure painting. Never done it, but been watching a lot of videos the past year and recently looking at the Andrea paints. Any advice for a newbie? Should I go with Andrea paints?

Thank you !

Andrea paints are very good using brush , I like them very much for my figure painting , and their sets , as example the white Paint Set , Black Paint set makes wonders if you are new to this Lights and shadows techniques . Also they have an Ink Set (very liquid base colors) that you can mix or use for better finishing , for example for the helmet on this one , I use an Aluminium color mixed with their Ink Set Brown and give this nice look as a metallic brown :-) , but my advice is to keep it simple at the beginning !

Recently I was in a workshop with Pepa Savedra ( a lady that makes wonderful figure work using airbrush , should check her work ! And she uses Vallejo Model Air , and also Vallejo Model Color and Andrea , as she mentioned some are better that others , it depends how you use them and how you fell comfortable with them , even she didn't like so much the flesh tones from Andrea , only because they didn't give her the right flesh tone , I use them on this figure and I liked , but it is like that : Try , experiment , You must have notions on how to mix the different colors , as in figure painting and to have better results you should mix and , and on this mix test and see if it is the right color that suits your idea using only the same brand and type , do not mix for example Model color with Air color from Vallejo better results , or Andrea with Vallejo ...and in the end you will fell comfortable with your techniques and materials used and it is your way and work . Some of my first figures were painted with tamiya , but everybody tells me that Tamiya isn't good for painting with brush , really the type of Andrea are much better and give you better results , but for me Tamiya was fine as it was the only colors that I have at the time !

Look this is only my opinion ,and I'm no expert at all , still learning in every figure that I paint :-)

Thanks Antonio!

I'm not so great at mixing colors at this point, so I think a set would really help out, although it does seem pretty expensive.

I checked out the Pepa's stuff, amazing!
