Airfix (1/72) De Havilland Vampire T.11

Hi everyone! This will be the first build that I post on this forum, and to be honest, the first military aircraft that I build after some 20 odd years break. I am a lot more into building road cars lately, but having visited the De Havilland Heritage Museum in London Colney and the Imperial War Museum in Duxford recently, my enthusiasm about airplanes and helicopters seems to have returned.
I thought I would start with a quick and easy build (before I jump in to the Flying Tank SIG
). I read some good things about the Airfix Vampire, and the WZ590 was one of my favourite planes in Duxford, so here it goes.Sprue A:

The molds are very good, with only some minor sinkmarks which can be easily fixed with some putty. Considering the £9 pricetag, it is not a huge issue..
I used Mr. White Putty, diluted with Mr. Cement S. I like this combination, as it is very easy to work with, gets solid relatively fast, and it is very easy to sand.
After some dry fitting, I found that the model will be extremely tail heavy, so I think I will have to use quite a bit of weight in the nosecone.
Well, that's it for now. I hope I will have some time to work on my model during the weekend.
