Artillery Prime Movers

Post by arkbuilder2012 »

A project I'm wanting to start is an M1A1 155mm (M114) and its prime mover. The unit I'm depicting is the 113th FA and I do know they did not use HST' but had trucks. I have a hard top White 666 but don't know if that could be correct. Does anyone do a Diamond 968?

Thank you, found that right after I posted  They do both the hard and soft cab versions. I suspect the soft cab version would be the more likely of the two. I also read that a Mack NO was the authorized prime mover for the M114 :wall: Wish some mainstream company would do one of those as well. I've seen the prices of the resin offerings if you can find them :jd:

THis is a hard top, but you may change your mind after seeing this and very well done I believe.

Well as it often happens I stand corrected. The unit in question in fact did use M5 HST'. I found a Hobby Fan kit which is stupid expensive but may be my only option to do an accurate rendition. Also came across a great picture of this unit towing a 155 across a pontoon bridge

I do have that Merit kit on Christmas wish list
