Post by NAMBiohazard »

Hi there guys

I just recently ordered the following items and need some up front advise on using it
Alclad : white primer and micro filler
Alclad: Aqua Gloss
Alclad: Klear cote Matte

I've heard so many modelers speak highly of Alcads and dicided to try and get some

Any advise on do's and don'ts

Don't shake the Aqua gloss, and the matte varnish is very slow to dry.
I've never used the white primer, but if it's like the black it will be excellent stuff.
Spray at about 12 psi and 10-15 cm back from your piece and it should lay down well.
Paul is the best to advise about alclad that I know, he uses it all the time.

Thank you Coen
I've heard there was on of the bottles that should not be shaken before use, now I know which.
Thx again

All of them have their own instructions on the bottle
It comes down to pressure and thin layers with most
The metallic paints hoeever all have different do's and don'ts
My best advice is to have some test pieces ready and ventilate like crazy
Unless you would like a serious pain in the head (nasty fumes)

As said the matt takes a while to dry properly so will attract fingerprints for some time.

Aqua gloss as per what mike said and the whit primer needs spaying in very thin light coats building it up slowly
