Sewing Machine Suggestions

I can not sew hand, but I've always wanted to learn. I think of all the times I've paid for garments to be change or reform also see many of the crafts and projects that I love to do. Can any of you who sew simple and easy to recommend the use of a machine that is not too expensive for starters? They've also been looking around to see if I could find a book to learn basic sewing for half the price to get me started. Thanks in advance !!!!

This is my preferred model, gets all the family involved too. I cant help with the book sorry as i like to pay way over the rrp for my reading material, which i also sew with too

They aren't for just for women anymore...
Man can enjoy them now too... With a few minor modifications.

I sewed for years, I love it! You must go to a thrift store, pawnshop, garage sale, or check lists on Craigslist. There are a lot of good, strong and old machines out there that people have purchased and then used rarely. You can always upgrade to a new machine if you like to sew ... and you know what you want on your computer. Just do not buy a cheap, plastic model of light in a department store ... it's usually because a lot of frustration, and you will not enjoy "sewing experience," Good luck!
