Russian T-34/76

Post by Vinitine »

Happy New Year Everyone!

Here is my entry into this GB. This will be my first GB and i am pretty excited about it. I have only been modelling seriously for a month or so, expect some mistakes and a lot of learning along the way. So far my experience is limited to a Tamiya KV-1 which i keep nearby to test out little techniques and what not. I am looking forward to this Dragon kit as i see and hear they are well detailed.

So far this kit has been very fun. I love the detail on the suspension with the spring housing.

Had my first scare with the driver's hatch. It looked it was no where near big enough and then after looking around i found out there was a front hull plate that had to go on. The instructions didnt show anything about putting on so i missed it but all set now.

This was my first time using photo etch, proved to be a little difficult but i was really happy to be able to manipulate the fenders. The tiny little brackets and straps were quite trying. i have the fuel tank assembly coming up and i can tell that is going to be a testing step.

And this is where she stands for now.

When one operates only as short time in scale modeling, then PE is a challange...
But but it looks great... have fun with it :th:

Having a lot of fun with this build, the first tank took awhile to do, but started getting the hang of how to work with it.

Okay she is ready for primer and then on to painting and weathering. Got through the build quick was one of my first weekends with no plans so i ended just building the whole the time and really enjoyed this kit. My first Dragon so it took some getting used to.
