So a while ago I started a new build but I couldn't find the time to post it. It is the A7 CorsairD. I going to give it the blue/grey camo. And I want it to be very worn/weathered. Like the A7 of the Greek airforce. I alos bougth a resin cocpit and wheel wells. Becaus the kit parts aren't that detailed. It will be my first time working with resin parts.

Image
Dry tested the hull. It seems I have lots of filling to look forward to

Image
In order to get the resin cocpit to fit I had to cut several pieces of the hull. And still it makes a horrible fit. I ecpected much more from Aires. But the detail is great.

Image
So I started with the cocpit first. Wich had loads of VERY small parts.

Althoug the resin came with PE parts I still needed to bend some steel wire myself.

Looking at reference photo's I missed one lever in the cocpit, wich I scratchbuilt myself.

The cocpit and its components primed

Painted, detailled and weathered

And completed....

Because of the resin parts the air intake did not fit. I had to cut it in half and raise it to get it to fit.

Image

Image
The end of the intake was close with no details whatsoever. So I cut it away en scratchbuilt somthing that would look like compressorblades.

Image

Image

I know it isn't the best work, but it wil be placed at the end of the air intake so it isn't very visible. So I think it will do just fine.

Image
The modyfied intake from the outside........

Image
And the inside. I sanded the inside with a coarse sander so it looks scratched and worn.

Image
Meanwhile I did some work on the exhaust as well. Th is afte painting and a wash. The spots that are a lighter green are deliberate as to look like they are some kind of paint repair.

That's it for now. Next step will be fitting it all inside the body en close the body. After that it will be a lot of filling and sanding.

really nice plane. I have the trumpeter 1:32 in my stash. One day I will build it to VA-81 or VA-12. I am interested to see the finish on this one.
