Anyone else here do 1/16 scale R/C tanks?

Post by timtamtung »

Just wandering if anyone else here do 1/16 tanks as a side hobby or something so that we can share / exchange knowledge...
I'm very green and new in this side of town but seeking a personal challenge.

I just got myself a standard 1/16 tiger 1 from Heng long as base starting point for some modifications :thumb2:

I have dabbled with 1/16 RC Tanks a bit.

Last year my son bought a 1/16 Walker Bulldog RC Tank and I got a Taigen Full Metal Tiger 1. I then decided to try and build one and bought a Tiagen Tiger 1 DIY kit with the intention of turning it into a Sturm Tiger using the Asiatam upper hull.

Heres a link to my build thread.

I intend to finish it sometime this year but here's where its at now.

Check out rctankwarfare.co.uk. Lots of useful information there on all things RC Tank and like this forum there are many very helpful people willing to offer good advice.

That's awesome mate. The taigen metal lower hulls are unbeatable. Sturm looks boss.

Thanks for the link also :thumb2:

These I would have to say are my Great White Whales. The cost alone denies me the awesome grape eaten pleasure of even holding one still in the box. :(

Unless I rob a bank or win the lotto.

I have the first generation King Tiger by Tamiya also, not attempted to build yet as it appears another house move is on the way , don't want to start it then have the aggro of worrying if I packed it well enough for transit , same goes for 16th KT dual turret by Trumpeter. One day soon I hope to start them both , I already know which one will be first on the new bench following the move .
