Airfix 1-24 Spitfire Mk Vb

I've recently got back into modelling, and this is my first build since the 1980's.

Thanks to Paul's techniques guides on Youtube, and supplies from Emodeĺs. My garage became my man cave, I constructed a spray booth using Corex sheeting, extractor fan and filter. I was all set to start the build.

I started this in December 2014, and completed in June 2015.



The kit was one of Airfix's old tool, re boxed, everthing in one bag, which was a pain, small parts breaking off, but it was ideal for a starter kit. I also attempted scratch building in the cockpit, and fitted a LED light, behind instrument panel. Sorry about pics, used phone, and had agro loading up to the forum.

Next time, I will pick out more detail in the engine

The kit was not bad to build, fit issues around the engine frame and gun bays, whereby I had to do away with them to make the wings fit. The other issue was the under carriage, flimsy,as you can see from the last picture, the slightest movement made the wheels fold in.
Might glue them in to the fixed position.

Just mastered the forum, and will place my other build on soon.

Just finished this myself bpc. Definitely a model that tests and consequently improves our skills imho.
