Painting wheels

Post by Avgas »

Aircraft wheels to be exact. I always seem to balls it up trying to get a black tyre and a different colour hub, even using masks. Does anyone have a foolproof 'Why didn't I think of that' method for painting aircraft wheels?

How about the circle stencil thing Dave, paint up the tyres as normal, then use a the right size circle stencil to place over the rim so that the tyre is behind the plastic, that would give you a "mask".
This sort of thing...
