The ultimate model... what's yours?

Post by timtamtung »

I did alot of thinking and made the call. What is your ultimate model?

Mine is definitely the 1/16 Tamiya Remote controlled fully optioned King Tiger.

This thing is just beast. Metal bits just make it nice and heavy. 4.2kg out of the box.
I will be buying aftermarket metal tracks and this thing will be sweet :)

I sold my whole stash to purchase this final KT & at an exceptionally great price- $800AUD free shipping.

1/48 B52. Sadly no one has taken up the challenge. The 3ft 10 inch wingspan may be a factor.

For me that would be the Wingscale 1/32 B-25 J Mitchell medium bomber
the only problem is that it is extremely rare with only 10 kits made and atleast 1 of them is build
It was a Dutch model making company that excisted for a very short time before a financial problem broke up the partnership
on the bright side of things , the molds still excist and now belong to HK Models but the Wingscale kit had tons of metal parts for the wheelbays and landing gear ,all the needed weights to keep it sitting on it's wheels and a lot of pe for just about everything you can think of
the HK is basicly the same but without all the good stuff
and it costs more
it still will be ending up in my stash though but it will be the B-25 J Straffer with the closed gun nose and all the extra stuff i can find to make one of the Dutch airforce
i still regret not picking it up at a modelling show last year
On the bench
GB builds
1/35 Trumpeter M1132 ESV

Personal builds
1/35 Hobby Boss M1070 tractor with M1000 semi trailer and Meng M1A2 TUSK II Abrams
1/35 Takom V2 rocket with the Meillerwagen and SS100 tractor

For me it would be great if I could get all the ships at pearl harbor and build a dio of it just before the raid. But, that is a long term goal.

I have a project, or would like a project, where I build every British designed and built single seat fighter that has seen service in the RAF. (So post 1 April 1918.) Sadly I don't have room to put them all.

My dream kit is a 1:48 jet sized styrene and etch model of serenity with full interior, crew figures and mule.
John, whats on my bench? Usually a mess and a couple of different models a week.

I have so many dream kits and diorama ideas it is a bit overwhelming
I have to stop buying kits and build
My 1/8 Pocher car kits, especially the Bugatti below, are my dream builds for my future. Just waiting for skills to impove, new workspace to be built and more time to miraculously develop!

I have always wanted to build a huge dio of North Africa. Afrika Korps VS US Army, lots of Shermans Stuarts and Panzer II.

jeez a 1/32 b-25 would take up my whole garage space! that would be so sweet to have one hanging from a ceiling
I know that feeling of not picking something up that you knew you should have :wall:

That is a great ultimate build. I would love to see the Arizona intact.

Very nice, at what scale? if you need space... try 1/144 :) I went blind after building a 1/144 spitfire.

Serenity is the spaceship from the tv series firefly and movie serenity, both superb, heck anything with nathan fillion, jewel staite, morena baccarin and christina hendricks has to be!

Right now, a 1/48 or 1/32 of a T-6A Texan II, with VT-10 decals. Plus a photo etch kit to go along with it. Sadly, I don't know if any T-6A Texan II models are available on the market.
