Newbie Question - Is the Tamiya 1/48 F-16 the best fitting kit out there?

Post by keithinflorida »

I'm returning to modeling after a 30 year layoff and I'd be interested to hear from the way more experienced modellers on here if there are any 1/48th kits out there that fit together better than the Tamiya F-16? I'm halfway through mine and the fit is so perfect haven't yet needed any filler. Of course primer will reveal the true fit but right now it's looking perfect!
Yes, actually, the real one looks just like that !

Erm, Keith i would say so, sure others will comment, but I have done a 1/48 version, also have the F16 Aggressor in the stash, but also in the process of doing the Tammy 1/32 F16...I haven't had any issues at all so far with both builds....I also have to say Keith, im loving your Flickr pics....superb, really enjoyed having a look at those.

Just finished the 1/48 F16C block 32 and didn't use any filler on it at all. Also the engineering and fit of the kit is superb. A joy.
Regards, Dave.

very nice flickr pics. Not sure about the 1:48 scale F-16 but as mentioned the 1:32 Tam F-16 is very nice.

oh and I just noticed, Keith, you are about an hour south of me. I remember when Palm Bay was forest and then they built that really huge blue water tank.
