Tamiya 1/24 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec

Post by PrivateMansoor »

This is my entry into the GB.

The kit doesnt have an engine which is a let down, but I love this car so will have fun building it.

Ill start it whenever I get some time to do so in between the other SIGs and GBs

Thanks Homer, nope I have decided to paint it Mica Blue, Ive put in a good session over the weekend. Here are pictures. I think I got a very small hair in the car body.

I also polished the body as I dont like gloss coating, as the paint has a gloss look to it anyways.

Will polish it some more if needed.

I did the entire under section and ended up doing a test fit, so far so good.

I marked the mold lines, so I could sand them down.

The body was then sanded and primed using Tamiya Surface Primer White (the spray)

Work began on the underside, I decided the paint the underside a grey as doing it Blue looked weird.

The body was painted by this time, the mica blue went on like a charm. I did two coats of TS-50.

The underside was then started again, while the body paint dried

The body work was started using tamiya polishing compound, and permanent marker to paint the black lines

Will work on this during the week now. There are some blemishes on the body, I will see if I can remove these, if not will just continue on.

Always one of my favorites. Bravo on the color choice, I can't wait to see it done.

It is a shame about the engine, but maybe that means more time to start another, ya?

Thanks Lysus, I might build another one if I have time, I dont know yet....

Anyways more work done, finished the interior. I used leather for the carpet, and tamiya weathering master on the dashboard / cd player to highlight the panels and buttons.

this took me a few days to complete... :)
