Hi guys
so here is the final reveal for my entry in this group build
my Hind is painted in the colors of the Tigermeet Hind from the Czech airforce in 1998 wich was held in Belgium

So without further rammbling here is my finished Hind

And that is all i have
i have to say that this build had it's challenges for me
as a armor builder a plane or helicopter can be good fun but some things are just very different
like the weathering wich was the biggest change of methods for me
i usually do pretty heavy or a some what medium amount of weathering on my armor
so it will look used
i wantes to do a much less worn look for this with only small scratches and a wash that is barely any darker then the Hind is
but in the end i am happy with the end result and i hope you like it aswell
so as always
thanka for stopping by and having a look
untill next time
Cheers ,Mark

Thank you very much Dan
it was a fun build , for the most any way
i have used resin parts before on my armor builds for things like stowage or some wheels but never a full set to build a part of a project like i did with the cockpit
i don't like resin that much as there can be a lot of fitting issues and damage when i clean it (happened with this build too)
but in the end i am happy with the result

Wonderful build, well done. Never be afraid to weather Russian vehicles, helos, planes etc... they use their equipment as tools. the ones I had seen outside Moscow showed a lot of scuffs, chipping, grease and grime. nice build!

Thank you very much
The reason i kept it fairly clean is because it is a display helicopter allthough i wanted it to look like the Tigermeet it was at was a few months earlier so it has some wear and tear but not much
I found some pics online of builds in the same camo but those are often just clean and barely any form of weathering was done
So i wanted to do something else
But i could have bought a decal set and made a entirely different version with tons of weathering but again that has been done a lot of times

Thanks Norm
It was a first taste of Soviet engineering for me
But still a rather nice build to do allthough there where some issues along the way
It would be nice if someone would make a KA-50 or 52 in this scale
If such a kit was made i would defently hunt 1 down for the stash

Superb looking beast you have there Sir. Only the Ruskies would build a gunship big enough to be a transport as well.

Really like the camo scheme and the subtle weathering

Thank you
From what i read about it they based it on the Hip
So they had a cargo capacity in mind from the start
Allthough it doesn't really look like the Hip except for the engine area with the deicing thing on top

This is probably one of the easier camoschemes to do
Some of the Hinds that are being used look really worn down and there are some models that look like those birds
I just didn't want to build one of those and i liked the boxart wich was this version
But the Hind in general is a nice helicopter to model
Good luck with yours

Thank you very much Nev
Too bad it is a bit fragile
The landing gear has a lot of weight on it and the 2 radio wires scare the crap out of me everytime i have to pick it up (wich is once a week for cleaning my cave)
It doesn't fit in the display cabinets so that is a bit of a shame
