Our Ultimate Primer is a water based acrylic polyurethane self levelling surface primer. Offering a simple and easy application with excellent adhesion and durability, it dries to a hard flat finish and is simple and easy to clean up.

Ultimate Primer can be applied with a brush, airbrush and sponge for use on styrene, plastics, resin, metals, woods and various other substrates.
We have teamed up with Badger in the USA to offer three base colours: Grey, black and white.

Instructions for use...

* Shake well before using
* No thinning needed
* Best applied with a 0.4 or larger needle
* Spray at 20psi - 30psi
* Spray light layers
* Allow to dry 10 minutes between coats
* Model is ready for paint after 30 minutes.
* Allow 24 hours to fully cure
* Always remember to close cap properly
* Clean your airbrush immediately after use with Ultimate Airbrush Clean

I'm glad to see that you are expanding your range of products , it is good as this is my option to try some of that Primer that everybody praises

Pitty though that I ordered some Ultimate products just yesterday ,

Well, All I can say is, EXCELLENT!!! Although I have easy access to Stynylrez here in the states it will definitely be nice to have one with the Ultimate label on it.

Doesn't help me here in Australia. Both Stynelrez and Ultimate rare as hens teeth here. Ultimate stocked by BNA however stock levels suck (out of everything for months) and I had to order Badger from Amazon US grrr

I've never had an issue applying Vallejo's Acrylic Primer but it let me down badly on the last build when the damn stuff peeled off (despite the surface being cleaned prior to spraying).
I'm not risking that happening again on another model and given the high praise heaped on Stynylrez by most this distribution deal with Ultimate has come at a very good time for me. Can't wait to give it a try.

Mooching around another site, I found a thread bemoaning the fact that stynylrez aka Ultimate primer would not play nice with Ultimate cleaner.
Any thoughts Paul/Lee, it's worked for me in most part by leaving it to soak after removing as much of the still liquid paint with that highly corrosive H2O stuff you get out the kitchen tap. The not so liquid stuff goes after a soak and a scrub. But anything that has dried just won't budge, have got tide marks in the paint cup that just won't go.

Yes I know it does very well as long as the primer isn't dry.
Hasn't shifted the dried rings in the colour cup.
But then again it's Ultimate cleaner, not Ultimate stripper.

As for the other site that would be Britmodeller.

Not sure how long you've left it in there for? But after a longish session I end up with those rings too, but haven't had any problems cleaning them off. No soaking or scrubbing neede, just a wipe with a paper towel.

Using a brush and Ultimate cleaner nothing is left in my colour cup, I've not had a problem using the primer and cleaner in the 12months I've been using it

Believe the praise, highly recommended!

No problems cleaning, got most out with a paper towel and rest cleaned up nicely with some cleaner.

Ive used a .3 needle with no problem

I've heard good things about Stynelrez. That and a combination of plastic twitching in my pocket means that I could be trying some out soon...

It can also be thinned perfectly with Ultimate thinner

Paul, does Ultimate have any plans to add the other colours to your range? The Red looks like a pretty convincing option for German primer.

Got a bundle of Ultimate stuff yesterday, including the new primer in black and grey.

Tried out the primer on my 1/48 Corsair. Man alive, that is one sweet smooth product. Went down beautifully.

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, this just the most appropriate place I could find to ask this

The instructions for the Ultimate Primer suggest using a 0.4, earlier in the thread Paul confirms a 0.3 is fine

I have a H&S Ultra Airbrush with a 0.2 needle and used it to spray the primer over the weekend without thinner any further and from my untrained eye it all seemed smooth and working fine, I understand the reasons for using the bigger nozzle set but would it do any harm using the smaller one short to medium term?

I do intend to buy the larger nozzle set, but I have overspent this month already, so don't want to fork out yet more on something unless it is really necessary, I don't think I can possibly justify any other packages arriving to my wife! Luckily she knows about the compressor arriving tomorrow

Some people can get it to spray through a .2mm needle others cant, it maybe a case that you needle nozzle is damaged and is larger than to originally was
