Nashorn in the snow

Post by burnie43 »

I started this kit a couple of weeks ago...maybe 3 weeks, it's a subject that I have wanted to do for a long time and the Tamiya kit came in at a really good deal so away I went.!!
This is my take on a cold winter day in Russia

The kit...built straight from the box...nice and straightforward which is what I needed

Hairspray and interior painted

this was built and painted in 3 sub assemblies,....

weathering done on the inside

outside painted

my favorite part...the whitewash and weathering

a bit more of the hairspray technique

In summing up it was a fairly straightforward build which was kinda like 3 in one, ...inside, outside and main gun ! I tried to make the inside different from the outside in terms of wear and tear, I'm happy with my effort.....
The figure are great, they came with the kit and I was really impressed with their detail
I used the hairspray technique and oil paint rendering etc for the weathering, I normally go nuts with pigments but not on this build.....only used rust on the spare track links.....
The unit insignia Love Heart was actually put on on valentines day ....just for the craic...how sad is that ??
Cheers
