What do you build your models on?

Post by SMAddict66 »

Having just read a post from linushg that he's building a monster 1/200 Iowa on a coffin, made me wonder if there are other unusual build bases out there in ISMland, or indeed other new and creative uses for stuff.

I'm boringly traditional with a couple of desk units in my study for building and one in the garage for airbrushing.

Looking forward to the forums incredible creativity.

I stole my father in laws old kitchen counters and cupboards and installed them in my cave.
I build on that.
:)
Waste not want not.

Not as unusual as a coffin tough..., that had to win some sort of prize.

That reminds me of a shifty butcher we had here. To cut a long story short he died and as part of the estate wind up they had an action in his shop for all the bits and pieces.
The last bit was auctioned off and the auctioneer realized that the slab the meat was cut up on could be sold as well. Any way he got a couple bystanders to stand it up on edge to give the crowd a good look..... Only to see a massive........ Rest in Peace John Donaldson :violin: .... On the under side. :ooops:

I build on a mattress made from the wings of butterflies, picked when they reach the zenith of their flight by an army of transcendental flying unicorns who have just had their rear teeth covered in diamonds.
Where does all the bloody time go.....?

Hahahahahahaha!! Love it! :th:

Me, I build on hope and blind faith. One day hoping to replace it with skill and talent - a man can dream!
