OOOOOOh! micro wing excitement.

Post by UKscalemodeller »

If like me you are in your <cough> mid 30's <splutter><cough> you may, like me remember with fondness, those lovley little Revell 1/144 microwings kits.

Revel re released 8 a while ago now. I remember thinking at the time that the P47 I did as a nipper wasn't one of them.

I have just seen that they have re released 8 more

SBD-5
P39-Q
F4F-4
P40-E
P51-B
P47-D
F4U-1
F6F-3

For me this is great news as I loved these kits.

anyone else thinking of getting any?

I'm not one for the mustang to be honest but the B is just ugly. the D is much better looking.

It dosn't say anything on the revel site and they are for sale on eBay.

I have built the Ju-87 and the Tiffie, but wasn't impressed, the fit was bad, there was lots of flash and very little detail. But for like £2 a kit I wasn't expecting much!

Might take a look at the newer ones and see if they are any better.

They are not newer Gav, they are all re-releases of the 70's (I think) ones.

Ah, shame. With some work you can get a decent wee model, so as I said for under £2 you can't complain!
