So yet another entry for me

Been wanting to do the bike for some time now and when i saw the senna special edition i thought, I'm building that. So i got the kit, top studio aftermarket set, tamiya fork set, Senna decals and the correct colour paint for the bike too.

My review of the Ducati Panigale S

This is so very cool

So off to a flying start with this, cant put it down lol

Got the engine built, went together like a glove. painted in mr hobby Super metallics and alclad







Radiators on with pe grills and exhaust, again painted with alclads and Super metallics




Got to try out my new razor saw today, great bit of kit.


And the part studio 27 and kit parts for the rear suspension.


And the spring painted up yellow and the rest of the AM parts added



Pe bolt covers for the engine, lots of them and you can barely see them lol



Then on to the Tamiya fork upgrades set, a well worth addition, i just needed to paint the tops and bottoms of the forks and add the colour parts to the steering

Very accurate detailing ! And that painting is very real !

Got most of the work done to the "frame" of the Tamiya Ducati Panegale, now ill start adding covers etc that will start to hide the detail so thought i would get some pics while i can. Awesome kit

My goodness! The process is as impressive as the result!

Damn Paul how did you manage to decal the carbon on the front fender,I bought a sheet of it, only difference to yours is that is a small weave, I'll be damned if I can get it to go down smooth without wrinkles.

Have you any tips mate. I'm using MicroSet and Sol, and I'm still getting tiny wrinkles. I've stripped it all off twice now.

Yeah its pig to do, i use three small sections of the film and found it a lot easier , just line it up and cross your fingers lol

Cheers Paul, once I paint it again tomorrow I might give it another go, I was pulling what little hair I have left out earlier. Crackin bike by the way. I'm mainly an airliner builder, this is my 2nd Tamiya bike, they go together way easier than the aircraft.
Are you going to be doing any other bikes, I'm just finishing of an R1, after the Ducati, I quite fancy a go at a MotoGP bike.
I'm just trying to fit in my builds before I go in for another knee op.

Just saw it Paul, another cracker mate, one by one we will build them lol. I just saw your stash, what a selection on bikes, plenty to keep you going there, I've just started a 1199, after that probably a MotoGP bike of some sort.

Paul just a quick question, what did you use to clean out your airbrush after using the zero paints, I'm planning to use your Ultimate Airbrush Cleaner, will this clean the AB. Or did you do something different

Maybe you can clarify something for me, when you say "cellulose" do you mean lacquer? It was my understanding that they mean the same thing. I recently laid down a coat of Zero Paint for the GTi and a flushing with a mil of lacquer thinner and then the Ultimate thinner cleaned it out perfectly.

Unless what you're saying is that it only looks clean and my airbrush at home is busy ruining itself

Hi Paul just a quick question.

When using the Zero Paints, do you clear/laquer it before adding the decals, then put on more laquer (I'm going to use Tamiya TS13 for the laquer).

If you do clear it before applying the decals, do you rub it down for a smoother finish, then apply the decals.

I hope this makes sense.

PS How's the Kawasaki build coming on.

No i go onto the paint, thats smooth enough for decals

Paul my apologies in advance for another build question, I've got the Zero Paints for my bike as well. Now can I use the Ultimate/Badger grey primer or should I use proper car primer from Halfords.

Hi there Paul my apologises for another question, I'm just at the stage of building up the Tamiya aftermarket front forks.
Have no experience of using metal parts, can you tell me in your experience what is the best glue to attach plastic to metal.
The various glues I have at the moment is Tamiya Extra Thin Cement, Tamiya Cement (the white bottle), superglue and PVA Bond glue.

I would recommend superglue (CA-glue).

I mostly use cheap Loctite CA-glue. Put a couple of drops on a plastic sheet (for example a blisterpack) and use a thin wire (or piece of guitarstring) to dispense it onto the model. I find it too messy to work with directly out of the bottle.

The wire can be cut when glue builds up too much on the tip.

Cheers Tommy yeh I used the super glue on the end of a cocktail stick method a bit tedious but I got there.

Sorry for another question Paul, how long should I leave the base coat before I lay down the decals, also how long before I can lay Tamiya masking tape over it to paint the black bottom half. Patience has never been my strong point

I would leave it 48 hours for both, it all depends what paints your using

I'm using te Zero Paints, for the base coat and lacquer (1k pre mixed) I'm really impressed how smooth this has went down.

The side fairing the bottom part will be gloss black, these are just the base coat.

The 1k i left for about 5 days before touching it again, for decaling over the paint i left it about the same time, just to make sure
