LaGG-3 Series 1-4 - 1/48 - ICM

Post by AndreFerro »

Hi folks!

Here is my thread for this ICM kit. First time I build this unknonwn Russian manufacturer and intend to do russian winter camo, using the 'haispray technique'.

Artbox:

Sprues:
3 sprues with some parts not to be used (depending the version to be built):

Decals and transparencies:

Manuals:
Very SIMPLE. Difficult to 'read' (unless you know cirylic!)

Image

Painting instructions. Black & white??? No kidding! :wtf: :wtf:

After some ressearch, have found on the internet the possible versions:
"Black Cat"
Image

"White Cat"
Image

"White 22"
Image

And the one I´ve choosed: "White 64":

Started with painting the cockpit and inner wheel well using Humbrol 106 enamel:

Front pannel and inside the cockpit & details:

Exhaust pipes were painted with "Rust":

and after some real 'rust' effect:

Wheels with Tamiya Black:

as well as propeler & spinner:

Mixing these two Tamiya for the underside:

Final result (Damm! Lost the pre-shading!) :wall: :

After that, the upper side painted with Hu 150 (Forest Green):

Then, Masking and preparing for the Revell 9 (Anthracite Grey):

Anthracite applied:

Masks off:

Landing gears done!

Since After apllying the clear-blue underside, I´ve lost the pre-shading, I´ve done a POST-shading:
Image

After some clear/gloss varnish and resting for some days, I´ve applied the HAIRSPRAY! Then, the Tamiya Acrilic white for the winter camo:

Then, the big´time!!! With an old tooth brush, doing the effects! This is the result!

Time for decals ! Luckly they were not that much!

Weathering!

Propeller: checked !
