I feel like there's an opportunity here to do a crew servicing a B-17 or a Lancaster, but put that guy in the background, riding a broom, 5 feet off the tarmac. Just to see who notices.

Six or more per gun.

Driver, commander, gunner, loader, 2 assistant loaders on the single barrels.

Driver, commander, gunner, 2 loaders, 2 or more assistant loaders on the quads (they have to be loaded from both sides).

That's the minimum crew level, I have books with pictures with 8 or more troops on each halftrack.

They would be deployed in squads of 4 or 5 flak halftracks, with a sergeant or officer commanding the squad, and in the case of my diorama I'm assuming the other halftracks are just out of site, but the crew have wondered over.

Still much to be done, but it's beginning to look like a diorama now. Only a couple of figures are off the sticks so can be test fitted, the other 20 or so are still impaled on cocktail sticks.







The quad halftrack has all the helmets and gas masks hanging off the mesh, there's nothing on the 37mm yet, and I still have ton of detail pieces to paint and place, including cigarette packs....

My mojo for this disappeared over a month ago, but it's slowly returning.

Clear blue skies as I went outside to get some photos, I had forgotten that today is the start of the local airshow, and just as I was taking the first pic a CF-18 Hornet roared overhead. The pilot never new how close he was....

There may be no men on brooms, but I'm glad. This is amazing work, Forbes. No joking, truly amazing. The figures especially are very well done...better than I could ever hope to do. I think I could spend hours looking at every corner of the action.

In a couple shots outside it looks as though it's a photograph when the yard is out of focus.

Thanks, I tried my best to do extra pale skin for the guys with the shirts off or arms fully exposed. It didn't come out as well as I hoped but it was a first try. I did spend a lot of time filling the gaps on the figures with extra thin CA (the MasterBox figures are brilliant and need almost nothing).

You noticed by recreation of Germany's secret camouflage. They came up with large sheets and panels to make the area look like a North American suburban area so as to confuse the B-29 daytime crews.

The Pastoral North American Suburb camo was notoriously difficult to spot in aerial recon photography of the day. Sneaky Nazis.

Also, for the pale skin. I went back and looked again, that's an awesome idea/detail.

Edit to add: If you do a truck for the EB&D SiG you should totally do a trucker tan on a figure.
