Thanks. Been a fun build so far. The gun is from AFV club and the truck is the old Tamiya Deuce. Both are great kits.

have you tagged your other builds? What else have you done so far and what remains? Also, why the 30th? I only know what wikipedea writes, anything else in particular that made you consider this?

823rd Tank Destroyer Battalion. The unit did not receive the M10 until December 44, prior to that they had towed 3" guns. M3 half-track and gun in progress.
743rd Tank Battalion. The unit also had a light company which operated the M5 and M24 Chaffee. Both are in progress.
197th Field Artillery Battalion. This was the DS unit for the 119 Inf Reg. Still have the 118th and 230th Field Artillery Battalions to do, all 105mm towed, and then the 113th FA Bn which was a 155mm towed.
The division also had Engineer Bn, Medical Bn, Ordnance Company, Military Police Company, Signal Company, Quartermaster Company and a Cavalry Squadron. The 531st AAA Battalion also fielded the quad .50cal in a towed trailer. The trailer will be a scratch build towed by another 2 1/2 ton truck.
My passion for the 30th stems from the fact that I served for 9 years with the 113th Field Artillery Battalion, 30th Infantry Brigade.

I like what your doing here arkbuilder2012, just might pick one and try that myself, that could make all my builds have a purpose, not sure if I said that right or not. my meds mess with me, but if not for the VA I'd be a lot worse. anyway that's so cool.

Thanks much for the comments. I've always loved history and this subject has made me dig deep. Amassed a small library in addition to what's available on the internet. Lots of these units wrote their own histories so it's primary source stuff, and sadly most of the members have now passed on, so this can be a way of tribute to them.
