The Diorama Base for my current project

Here what I have prepared earlier. This is going to be the base for my diorama depicting Jackson / 12 mile USAAF aerodrome Papua New Guinea in 1943 ish. Its going to depict a P-400 in maintenance. base is 3 mm ply covered with gipsen and Vallejo ground effects. The psp is individual links in 1:32 scale from RB production.

Had some bench time over the weekend and last night to get some more of the ancillaries built and the chance to take some close up pictures of what was already built.



Maintenance steps from Brengun weathered a bit more to.




Applied some still water effects by Vallejo to the dial of the compressor to simulate the glass, during the taking of the photo the 1:35 spray gun came loose and will have to be reattached, the airline is natural rubber hose from Ruch from Hong Kong.





Got some rust effects down on the Fire Drum using Vallejo rust wash and and rust pigments also from Vallejo

Thanks for the confidence boost there Twokidsnosleep. For the letters and Kilroy I used Archer Fine Transfers so cant take all the credit for those. The oil drum itself is 1:35 and I was known as Eduard Sausage Fingers in my younger years...

I'm away from my regular bench because enjoying some R&R in a bungalow park in Zeeland The Netherlands. Did bring along some modeling goodies for this build.

CMK Crew-chief in base colors. Also opted to fit a different head by Verlinden Productions


Verlinden Productions Pilot in flight suite fitted the other head that came with the kit.


Verlinden Productions Ordinance Crew also fitted with a different Verlinden Productions Head

Will be adding shadow and highlights over the coming week

For now happy modeling and keep painting
