For the time being I'll be playing both sides of the fence and posting videos on both platforms.

The issue that some of the bigger (busier, more popular?) tubers are having is the constant, automated de-monetizing of videos (even the greats like Jingles are having the issue) where the system picks up on words like "shooting", "guns", "nazis", etc, the video is deemed unfit for advertisers, so no ads are attached to the video and the creator loses revenue. By the time an appeal is completed the majority of the people who will watch the video have already do so and the few that watch after the de-monetization has been lifted don't add much, if anything to the "viewed with ads" numbers to get some money out of it.
It doesn't effect me because I don't have monetization turned on, and wouldn't have the numbers to generate revenue anyway, but some are getting annoyed. It will be a while before VidMe has the viewer base numbers to generate any sort of revenue for even the biggest posters in the modelling group, but I guess they are hoping VidMe will pick up as Youtube drops off.
Anyway, there's strength in numbers and if enough modellers sign up reasonably early with VidMe we might be able to leverage that into a sub-group of our own, instead of being lumped in with the arts and crafts crowd.

I, personally, have few complaints about YouTube, I'm not interested in monetization, and don't yet find their rules too constraining. However, some of the larger content producers I follow have encountered issues, and they're really the ones keen to find a better option. Vidme probably is the next best platform, but it still has a ways to go.
