My very first car LITERALLY!

Post by CJSomerset »

This is a Revell 1/24 MK 1 Mini.

I decided to make it as MY FIRST CAR. But not as it looked when I bought it for £50 (in blue). But as it looked 12 years later when I pushed it out of the garage and gave it away for free. By then, it had been (very badly) sprayed red using a spray gun that attached to a vacuum cleaner and crunched in the drivers side wing and repaired newspaper and body filler.

And here it is with the only known picture of the original car. That's a 19 year old me in the pic! By the time I got rid of the mini, the spot lights in the picture were adorning the front of my MK4 Cortina

That's brilliant. A combination of superb weathering and attention to detail like the coat hanger aerial and pools of oil underneath. Well done
