Hi everybody!
I decided to start this project. It scares me a little because I still consider myself a newbie, but anyway, challenge accepted!

Wow going for the deep end of the pool sergiotron, lol. if this is your first real tank, get a little quick help, and check out coens build on this tank, and look in on Adam Manns, they have some REAL BIG help on this new kit. my little help to your project is, in my kit the barrel had such a BIG and heavy flash line on it, I would have had to put it in my drill to sand it down. I just bought a metal one. Anyway looking forward to your build.

Today I finished my new Step-by-step video about this kit (just the turret for now)

I've enjoyed this build a lot! The only real problem is the seam line in the back on the turret (and a little on the sides), but I solved it pretty easily.

looks great- beautiful build.

By the way the barrel on the kit is 3mm too long.

Go to TIGER.INFO - where David explains the inaccuracies with the kit.

No criticism here mate - just pointing out what i know - also there is a problem with the side fenders.

The kit does look to be of very good quality I have to say I never seen a RFM in the flesh, I think I'm going to have to now.

Thank you! And yes, you're totally right. I did my research since my video unboxing in the first post, and I mention that inaccuracy among others.

Worth every penny! The tracks are amazing. Maybe by the end of the week I can share more progress.

Thanks! I'm pretty aware of the inaccuracies on this kit thanks to your YouTube review and http://tiger1.info/ (I credited both on my unboxing video), but I want to build it OOB, like some sort of reference for future buyers.

As you can see, the front and top plates are now installed, as well as the front hatches and the feifel filters

Initial Tigers did not have an escape hatch they had two pistol ports.

The exhausts shouldn't have the top bit on, that was rye fields mistake.

Again though, this is so clean i hat to even point things out.

Interesting your points aren't mentioned here http://tiger1.info/models/products-page/RM5003 every picture I've seen or have clearly shows an escape hatch on the right rear of the turret on all Tigers with modifications to them over time. The same with exhausts, from my research all but the very last Tigers were fitted with very similar exhaust. These are designed to allow the tank to forge completely submerged and were fitted with one way vales, later variants had these removed as forging completely submerged was abandoned early in the war. Outwardly they looked the same, some were modified during servicing or refit/battle damage repair having the shrouds removed and/or the larger muffler (housing the valve system) and they looked more like the later Tiger 2/Panther systems.

I would add I'm no expert just what I've seen and read.

The page you are linking is Byrden's page about 5003 (A 503 early production), This is 5001 (a 501 initial). The initial Tiger and early Tiger have many differences, which is essentially all I pointed out. With the front flaps you have, you are limited to initial type Tigers. 502 in Leningrad and 501 in North Africa. both types had double pistol ports and simplified exhausts (no top bit with the five mounts and cover). The shrouds you're using limit you to only the 501 in Tunisia as those shrouds were only used there. The 502 in Leningrad had none. Also you're rear flaps and spare track mounts were only used in Africa.

This is Tiger 100 (502 initial in Leningrad) check out the exhausts. They still had a valve the kept out water for deep wading. The bit they lacked was the extension above that to protect it from whatever it was they were trying to protect it from. On later (non deep wading Tigers) they removed the valve and just had an open hole there.



This is an african initial Tiger #112 being unloaded from a ship in 1942. Notice the shrouds and track holders.



And this is the rear view of Tiger 131 at Bovington. No tracks hangers, different shrouds and rear flaps. These features stayed consistent on Tiger I for the most part.



And this is a 503 Tiger that the Rye Field with interior kit represents. Notice the front flaps are straight and wider like most Tigers.



And this again is an African intiial Tiger, which has the front flaps you have.



The features you have just weren't seen together.

I'm aware of the inaccuracies of this kit, thanks to tiger1.info and Adam's videos, but I decided to use the parts I liked the most. I hope it's okay because sometimes it's more fun that way
Btw, right now I'm glueing the shovel on the front plate, and I know it's not supposed to be there

We are at crossed proposes mate I'm referring to my kit which is what I thought you was referring to

Awesome work Sergiotron, I did that on a Tamiyas early tiger, so I know the fun you've had, and the detail on a kit really comes out though. And we'll worth it, I buy PE for all my kits. Again outstanding.

Workable tracks installed! After several hours of work, but they look amazing so it was totally worth it

Great build! I wonder if this model can be easily converted into a "Initial Production" such as Tiger 100?
I really like the quality of this kit and Dragon's is beyond my reach in term of complexity and price.
