I am wanting to glue some custom cut shapes of the 0.13mm Evergreen white sheets to a plastic sphere.

What would be the best way to do it so the shape stays flat on the surface (the sheet is a bit stiff).

If I may offer a suggestion, I would heat the sheet up with a hairdryer or a heat gun on low heat. You can chose to have the sheet clamped in a wooden frame and let gravity do its magic forming it into a sphere or you can drape it over a spherical object like a glass orb. An other option is to glue a polystyrene sphere to s sheet of styrene sheet with a pva glue and finish the sphere of with some deluxe perfect putty to seal all the pores of the sphere before painting.

Offer as many suggestions you can! I am at the hardest part of my project and it is the second last step.

What are you trying to make so I can get my thinking cap on and offer some more suggestions which might work as well and give you a nice looking result..

sounds like making a world ( globe) map with the raised land area's, but just taking a wild guess

Good guess but I don't want to reveal what is it because I will be revealing it when I have finished it!

So the green bit is a plastic sphere and the white hexagon shapes is the everygreen white sheet I custom cut. Unless it is better to use standard paper but I might have trouble varnishing it.

Hello Stefan, thanks for the update. I think I found you a cheap and easy way to do it. My local Arts and Crafts store has Polystyrene and Wooden Spheres ranging in size for only a couple of mm up to mega jumbo 1,5 m. here's an example of what I'm talking about.



This is a small size one and is solid the larger sizes are hollow however. As this stuff can be carved I would carve the hexagon shapes into the sphere, I would opt to do a beveled edge only to outline the hexagon. Fill the pores of the polystyrene with a water based putty like deluxe perfect putty do small area's and smooth out with a damp cloth or paper towel, several applications might be necessary. Paint in the colors required with acrylic paint and presto three dimensional logo

You could try do a quick dip in acetone (or any other polystyrene solvent), it should turn into a wet blanket, sort of... Try on some scrap first though.

if the plasticard is flexible, try a contact adheshive
