Good afternoon. I have a small problem with the releasing agent. I washed the hull of the T34 in warm water and dish washing liquid after drying the hull attempted to spray AK under coat. In some places it adhered well but in some places it looked just like water floating on the surface after you have waxed your car. I am worried that the dish washing liquid is not strong enough. Is there some body kind enough to help me. sandy29

Some liquide soaps could cause the problem you discribed as there is a minuye ammount of cilicone in the product to make it work as a liquide soap. To circumvent this problem I use oldschool bar soaps for washing my models. The type I actually use is a shaving soap that I apply with a shaving brush to get into all the nooks and crannies of the model.

I also let the parts air dry so not to introduce any contaminents from the likes of a T- or paper towel.

Thank you very much for your advice. I will have to buy a stick of shaving soap, but I have a brush buried some where sandy29

Although not the same brand of paint as mentioned here, it could also be an issue with the paint itself.

I had same problem with the AK grey primer on my mig 29. I didnt use a soap wash to clean my model at all and still had problems. It's not the soap it's the paint didn't like the AK primer I then used vallejo primer and it worked fine.
Try a different primer maybe the new Ultimate primer which is what I am going to use when I run out of my vallejo stuff which I haven't had a problem with as yet. Hope this helps.

99 out of 100 times an acrylic primer will do fine on a plastic model. But, because.... ehrm, Reasons, that one model wont work. When I did my, cant remember, a big spot on the model just didnt work with paints or primers until I did a very light sanding of the problem area.
