I could not find a equivalent light here so I ordered from the UK and I can tell you it is not a cheap exercise, BUT it is worth it. Even if you have to use a step down adapter you will cherish that light as it is as good as it gets.

Daylight bulb, magnifier - which I don't use but i'm sure will come in handy one day. Bulbs are a couple of quid from maplin, had mine 5 years and only had to change the bulb about 3 months back.

Mount is like a G-clamp that clamps to the desk. They do smaller ones for sewing that sits on the desk, but the swing arm and the reach on he one i linked is excellent.

Thanks Digger. I couldn't find the info on CPC's page and they, and Shesto, have not replied to my inquiries. It seems that the lamp they are selling is a (cheaper) Chinese clone of the Daylight Company lamp, so I was wondering if the tubes were the same °K.

Its not a cheap clone at all, it made under the Light craft company name and yes it does have 6500k bulbs

For those of us in North America, the Shesto lamp, as good as it may be, is probably a bit too expensive to import. I wonder if it's even compatible with our 120V 60Hz standards?

OttLite is a brand that provides excellent full-spectrum light and is widely available on this continent. I think one would have a much easier time finding one of these.

$137 it's worth it
and I' tried similar lights as those by ottlite and they do not stack up...the daylight with it's width, eliminates most shadows and has a lifetime of use ...you won't buy another light.

It's a quality bit of kit you can have them table base, Floor stand, wall bracket these you need to buy the attachments for it comes bench mount. It has 1.5m cable, I'd say the light head from the base reaches approx 1.5m obviously you loose hight at full extension, but it will easily do a meter with 750mm height from the work surface. Here's a few pictures I've not used it in anger yet, but in a sunlit room it still brightens up the work area

Yes I agree. I' have tried the best of the cheap lights including led which claimed huge illumination and they never even came close to being good. When your eyes start to need glasses then you can really tell what's good and what's not.
Like some others here I trusted Paul's recommendation....admittedly read a third party review first and took the plunge. It was a huge investment due to our dollar devaluing and freight increasing, but Not a regretted purchase in the least.
