1/12 Tamiya Yamaha YZR-M1 Estoril Edition

Post by FuzzSquad »

I'm really liking these Tamiya bikes now, I started off with the Yamaha R1, I then moved up to the Ducati 1199, which was a big step up in detail, now I've bought this kit, which again is another step up in detail.
I've just made a start, it might be a lengthy build as I go into hospital in 3 weeks time for my 3rd op on my knee, thus I will probably need to take a break from it, thus I've put it in this section.
Anyway it will be a basic build, with the only aftermarket part being the front fork kit.
The paint will be from Zero Paints, and I've bought several carbon decal sheets from Scale Motorsport for added detail.
Anyway I hope you like it.

The kit itself which is up to Tamiya's high standard

The decals of which there are plenty, are excellent quality, I'll be doing the Rossi bike

The carbon decals are also excellent quality, I used these on the Ducati, really easy to use.

The paints from Zero Paints, the pots are quiet small so hopefully there will be enough

I made a quick start to it, and glued up the frame.

Anyway that's it's for the moment, hope you like it

The detail up fork set, I now wouldn't build these bikes without these

I'm using an Iwata Revolution CR, not that expensive in the grand scheme of things, an excellent airbrush.
