1970 Le Mans

Post by EasyEight96 »

So here is my 4th entry to the GB yes another race car but this time it race in Le Mans

Image

Some background of this car
The Porsche 917 is a race car that gave Porsche its first overall wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1970 and 1971. Powered by the Type 912 flat-12 engine of 4.5, 4.9, or 5 litres, the 917/30 Can Am variant was capable of a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) time of 2.3 seconds, 0–124 mph (200 km/h) in 5.3 seconds, and a top speed of up to 240 mph (390 km/h).

The car I've chosen is the red and white #23 917K of Porsche Salzburg, with the standard 4.5-litre engine, carefully driven by Stuttgart's own Hans Herrmann and Englishman Richard Attwood through the pouring rain, that finally scored the first overall win at Le Mans, in a wet race that saw only 7 ranked finishers.

I'll be doing a simple base for this car as a tribute to Porsche First ever Victory in Le Mans so if you guys have any suggestion for the base I'm all open for advice

Nice choice just finished mine, take your time with the rear suspension and test fit it to get everything to line up, same goes for the front, when you come to fit the dashboard over the front, good Luck, it dose build into a nice curb side kit.
