Hello from sunny Scarborough!

Post by dect69 »

Okay so it's not that sunny. But hello!

In my spare time I'm a Civilian Instructor with the Air Cadets so have a natural love of things that fly. But I've always enjoyed building models but over the last few years I've got back into it despite not having huge amounts of free time. I do enjoy building aircraft and, after really wanting it as a kid, I finally completed the Tamiya USS Enterprise with lots of extra aircraft and crew members.

Currently I'm working on Tamiya's 1/32 Mosquito. Slow going as it's been a busy year with the Air Cadets but very enjoyable.

Have the Air Cadets actually got anything to fly yet? Been a bit of a debacle all round.

That's such a sore point about the gliding fleet. Fortunately the Grob Tutors are available for them still and the plan is to cut the glider force in half then build centres for them with accommodation for weekends.

As long as the props stay on of course. The whole thing has been an absolute shambles and TBH the nation should hang it's head over what has happened to a superb youth movement with absolutely dedicated volunteers. It maketh my platelets froth over.

And I'll step off the soapbox now... :cheers2:
