Tamiya 1/35 Tiger 1 Early - captured Russian

Post by cib2265 »

Finished this recently, but took some photos this afternoon. Tamiya Tiger Early, done as a captured, damaged and reissued Russian vehicle. Completely out of the box - wanted to see how far I could push my weathering skills.

I've got a few stuff-ups in there and I might revisit it later (for example, should really paint a faded German cross under the HE shot mark), and Ive left one track not glued on to show how it comes out of the box without pinning/gluing.

This is my second AFV I've attempted in the Michael Rinaldi style - mainly oils, pigments and no clear coat over the base coat (proper Panzer Grey - nice and dark) with Russian markings painted on.

Here are the photos, plus I made a reveal video on youtube:

Thanks for looking - open to critique as always, I know Ive stuffed up a few things and I will likely go back and revisit this build again and touch some points up (tracks for example, lost all the shiny guide horns plus glue or pin the vinyl POS tracks down properly)

Thanks guys, Im actually revisiting this one, not happy with the finished result, want to add another layer of weathering to tie it together, plus work a bit more on the HE damage shot...and make a base.

Going to try my hand at a competition in August for this one, but I've also done an AFV Club in 1/48 strictly OOB to enter as well...
cheers
