Back to the hobby after 15 years

Post by derstef »

Hi everyone, I'm Stefaan from Belgium and new to this forum.
I picked up my hobby after 15 years. I had some old kits laying around from back in the days...1/72 Airfix Ju 52/3M, 1/48 Airfix Spitfire VB and a 1/48 Hasegawa ME Bf109G-2. The Ju 52 decals were in such a bad shape I bought some replacement decals(actually as bad as the old ones), the Spitfire is the plane James Rankin flew and the Me 109 is oob.
They are not perfect but the hobby has changed so much in 15 years that these 3 models were a good learning proces. Hope you like them. I don't have any pics from the build sadly. The kits were not that good a fit but nothing some putty and sanding couldn't correct. Please feel free to comment or ask questions :thumb2:
The next build is a 1/48 Italeri ME 262.

Welcome to the forum Stefaan glad you joined, you'll find a lot of useful information and knowledgable people here. I would say that on the JU-52 i don't notice a decal issue because to me the build itself is so nicely weathered that it looks spot on. Very nice job.

Thanks Cowboy, I already found a ton of helpful stuff here on the forum. The problem with the decals was that they were extremely thin and came apart while handling....the camo helped :-)
Added a pic of the kit boxes and 1 more of the Ju 52.

Thank you...as a kid I used to do a model in 1 or 2 days lol. Now I know otherwise and it's worth the patience :-)
