Hi there
New to forum and would like to ask you experienced model makers the best way to go about making a scale model of the Rio 2016 Logo ( attached). My son has been asked to do this for a school project and we have been trying for a week now without success. Any ideas would be gratefully received, materials, possible ways to do it etc.
Have tried modelling clay, homemade playdoh, wire and even the bottom of a plastic bottle
Just can't get there so any help would be great :th:

Thx in advance

could try polymer clay....it's a craft thing.
I would try to separate it into two parts. The ring and the other bit, flatten the design then sculpt to required shape then join the the two pieces. Then that polymer clay go's into the oven for a while. then it's done. The clay comes in different colours.
Or the protruding piece could be placed over a rod with your different colours then cut the shapes into it with your craft knife.

Thx Digger ... Is there a way of getting Polymer clay more malleable? Seems a lot of working yet remains very stiff

My sister informs me that you have to keep rolling and bending to soften. You have to keep doing it until when you bend it it doesn't crack then it is ready to use. :th:

What about some Formcard cut into shape?
