hi fellow modelers,

I´m considering the build of a 1/72 Eastern Express Sturmovik Ilyushin IL-2 M3 & NS-37 'Tank Busters' that i have in my stash...i bought it a long time ago. I was prepared for the flash and the fitting problems and shady instructions...but instrutions only in russian? with a quality that i almost can t see which piece goes where?? and to top it all...no decal or paint instructions...

Now i m gathering info on this Il 2 version. So i m going with the red 28 a "normal" 3 color IL-2 M3 painting, and a half plane white wash. But i don t have the minimum ideia of the weapons load out. I going to put the NS-37 machine guns...but i dont know the bombs.
I have 8 rockets/small bombs, 2 bigger bombs and 2 torpedos?...

So with the NS-37 what's a realistic load out? 8 rockets and bombs ? Bombs and torpedos? just rockets? just bombs...

Thanks in advance!

couresty of wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilyushin_Il-2

Referred in the west as the "Il-2 Type 3M"

bomb load was reduced to 200kg...so no torpedoes....it was a tank buster so go with the rockets. Is my humble guess. From what they say it was a tough bird.

Thank you digger!

So the torpedo is out (just one, my mistake)...

In http://mig3.sovietwarplanes.com/il-2/il ... ns-37.html it says "The rocket rails were removed, and the bomb load was limited to 200 kg in overload condition (usually 100 kg) because of the increased weight of the plane."

I going to take the advice and i m going with NS-37 guns, and one bomb in each side. I think it s the most realistic...and it looks good on the "tough bird"

Thanks again!
