Eduard's 1/48 Bf 109E-1

Post by AdamLuscombe »

I picked this kit up today at the IPMS Avon Model Show, along with a few other bits, and Tamiya's 1/48 Tiger 1.I was originally planning to get the E-4, but i saw this cheap so i settled on this one. As Paul said in the review it looks like a fantastic kit, and i am really looking forward to starting it. I may do a diorama, with the aircraft and a few other German vehicles and figures, but i'll see during the build. :th:

I will most likely be doing it in this scheme (Again photos from Eduards Website):

So im set that i will be doing this as a diorama. I haven't started the build yet as i am busy with other projects but i plan to do so soon. I have bought a Tamiya 1/48 Kubelwagen for this, which comes with two figures and some roadsign decals. It will depict an aircraft preparing to fly in escort with Luftwaffe bombers to attack the main target of London during the Battle of Britain. Obviously this wont be depicted in the dio but it interested me when i was researching the aircraft. It may not be completely historically accurate but i like it the plan so it will do. The kubelwagen will be next to the aircraft with the officer figure (included) giving the pilot (included) a final briefing. I've also got some Xtracrylics to experiment with. The dio will also serve as a practice for a bigger dio i plan for the Heinz sig later in the year.

If anyone's interested :scratch:: :

The aircraft i will build actually crashed in Calais on August 24,1940,after combat with RAF fighters.

The pilot, Fw Artur Bleese was unharmed in the accident and continued flying in the war, until being killed in February 1944.
