hey guys im just worried and i need help cause i cant help to think about this

its value is $78 and this is my first time i ordered online outside the country? will my parcel be taxed by customs?

I'm in Australia and buy oversea things all the time with no hassle or 'tax' problems. Most of my stuff from abroad comes from the UK or China/SE Asia and quite a few of them are expensive parcels. I had one delivered from the UK yesterday worth just under $300 AUD, not touched by any authority, except probably electronic.

I have no experience with modelling products, but generally I find you do get a customs charge when ordering from abroad, and you also get all sorts of other charges (for example Royal Mail charge a handling fee). The customs charge is normally based on the declared value on the customs form but they can open package to check as well

Sometimes packages do seem to slip through the net though and depending on the product if its a gift (and declared as such) there is often no charge. Even with gifts it depends on the product and there are often limitations (for example, a hobby of mine is smoking cigars, and I know you can only be sent five of those as a gift).

Sending within the EU doesn't result in a charge though apart from some restricted products (such as tobacco), there isn't a need to complete a customs form though

It's all about the government taxing the bejezzes out of you to repair the countries finances...and they will keep it on forever.
How about if you get it shipped to Ireland then get the IRA to drop it off....

I'm from the Philippines and our customs sucks and they always try to find a way to tax you more than what you bought online that could sometimes reach to 300%

I was planning to ship it to the US and I read somewhere online that hobby items are not taxable in their customs or do they? I still need clarification about this

Since I know someone there who would be going home here in my country

dunno if its a good idea, I really want to buy those items

To be honest, it's not always the Customs departement. I recently ordered a 1/35 Jagdpanzer IV from Japan to Holland, valued at $26. This is below any Customs limits, so it should not have been charged. But is was, by the postal service, taxes and a handeling fee!!! This added another $20 to the total cost. I almost went 'postal'

It is a restriction of free trade......oh wait the eu loves subsidies and tarriffs...
